Supervision Requirements
CAAs work under the direct, on-site supervision of a qualified anesthesiologist, following a written protocol filed with the Board. The statute caps concurrent supervision at two AAs and lets the Board raise that to four by rule.

The licensure statute dates to 2004; its latest amendment (2025) was a terminology update, not a practice change. Two 2026 bills that would have created temporary licenses for new AA graduates died in March 2026. The osteopathic board has a parallel supervision provision (Fla. Stat. § 459.023).
