Can CAAs practice in Louisiana?
Not authorized
No — CAAs cannot currently practice in Louisiana.
Louisiana does more than lack a CAA license: statute contains express legislative findings intended to prevent the introduction of anesthesiologist assistants into the state.

Notes
R.S. 37:930(G) states legislative intent 'to prevent the introduction of AAs into Louisiana until such time that they are deemed to be viable providers of anesthesia services' and limits anesthetic administration to CRNAs, physicians, dentists, and other explicitly authorized providers. 2026 SB 264 (Luneau) touches the CRNA findings but does not authorize CAAs.
